For those who don't know, Saturday mornings are quite well represented by electric flyers ,I can think of at least 10 + flyers that have some form of electric flying machine! Last Saturday was no exception.

Andre Killian had his Acro Wot with geared motor.

Charl Pienaar on the left with an Urban Hawk and Henri Robertson on the right with a Rainbow.

Another shot of Henri's Rainbow (powered by an AXI 2820/12 with 3700mah 3 cell Flightpower battery)- his first aeroplane - makes a good trainer and flies similar to a Cub.

We also have some mini Sticks - very nippy and fast ! Andre van Rensburg has one - named "Bliksem" for reasons best not published ....if you don't know the story ask him when next you see him!

Claudio Damin's mini Stick was also there and I am told Grant Brook bought all the hardware on Saturday and should also have a mini stick flying soon.

Andre Killian ( a seasoned electric flyer ) had a mishap when he made up a S5 pack and used a parallel connecting lead instead of series lead connector - end result the two cell 7.4 volt Lipo pack being over loaded and it got badly out of shape!! An expensive mistake and as Andre pointed out perhaps a good idea to make parallel and series connecting leads up in different colours to avoid making a mistake.

As the pack was ruined it was used to show what happens if one of these Lipo packs pick up a short - could have catastrophic consequences , hence reason to treat these packs with the greatest of respect !!

Next time I will give some feedback on the Oil burners ....they must be feeling left out by now .... just worried I will ruin the camera lens with that messy substance that they use to power those noise makers....better get a camera with a good Zoom lens!!
