Duncan's Ultimate Biplane

New member Sascha gets some help tuning his engine.

Here's Andy's video of the visit to the Vaal for some float flying. You can see many of the usual suspects and  some fine flying.
I had to remove the soundtrack due to a copyright violation.

For a change here are some clips that have nothing to do with JOMAC:

Look at the wonderful English weather.
In the late nineteen fifties I flew from that airfield as a member of the Imperial College Gliding Club. The hangar and peri-track haven't changed much since then.

As the comment said, even has a retractable u/c.

Most ingenious, uses a normal Tx for control. I suppose that way you can test it before actually making a manned flight.

Here's something you don't see everyday at JOMAC.

Plenty of aerotowing today. Here's a short clip with some extra airborne shots from Stuart. He's given me  a whole lot of footage taken from his Supertug.

More aerial video

Andrew lent me a copy of his DVD with aerial scenes taken by a small camera mounted on his aircraft. The DVD is 37 minutes long -- too long for Youtube which I use for the BLOG. I've made a 5 minute extract. I hope he won't mind.
(Keep a lookout for the mysterious JOMAC flying saucer hiding in the sun).

Andy's airborne video system, I'd love to post a clip on the BLOG.

A Flying Saucer over JOMAC?

On Saturday I was flying my Minij with a Flycam attached. Lo and behold, irrefutable evidence.

A Voltij at Hermanus

Here's a long, and somewhat boring clip taken with an airborne camera on a Voltij at Hermanus. It runs from just after launch to the ignominious end.

An unsuccessful video experiment

Today I tried to capture airborne aerotow video from the glider tug. For whatever reason I failed.
Plan B next week.

All I have is an aerial shot of the field from the camera on my Gentle Lady.

Not very smooth flying, I wonder who the pilot was.

Vintage Aircraft Fly In number 214

Flemming with his Buccaneer.

Here's an eight second clip of some action in the pits.

Stuart has installed a new Zenoah 80cc petrol engine in his Stinger. Very impressive, an engine that commands respect. I think Charlie would like to highjack it for his Harvard.

Here's a video clip of the first run. It was very breezy so there's a bit of wind noise.

Two stalwarts and an Ultra Stick.

Here's Charlie with this helicopter.

I make no apology for including another clip of Ken's marvellous scale Slingsby Sky.

Scale comp at JOMAC

Four pilots took part...

Koos Pretorius with his Harvard.

Ian Edwards with his Extra.

Eric Frost with his Turbulent.

Johan Ehlers with his Fokker DR 1.

Here's a clip of the DR 1.

Sungazer Scale 2008

Ken's Minimoa at the 2008 Sungazer Scale slope event.

For those with fat bandwidth here's a five minute video clip of Sungazer 2008.

Pattern activity

There's keen pattern activity at JOMAC these days. Here's FC's pattern ship and...

here's Juan's electric one.

This is a short clip of FC calling for Juan in a practice session.
