A Voltij at Hermanus

Here's a long, and somewhat boring clip taken with an airborne camera on a Voltij at Hermanus. It runs from just after launch to the ignominious end.

Another generation of flyers coming on. Let's hope they survive the rigours of growing up in the middle of the glide field.

The new glider tug of the Gray / Callaghan consortium.

Power comes from the finest petrol engine the Peoples' Republic can manufacture. -- looks really good.

We have another glider tug. Ken's (the other Ken) DH Beaver. 

Aerotow clip taken by a camera on Stuart's tug. From the clip it seems that a "V" tail might be the way to go in tug design.

Friends,

sadly I share with you the passing of our friend and flying buddy Andre van Rensburg. Andre flew mostly on Saturday mornings and was always friendly and helpful - even after one of many of his famous less successful "landings".

Our condolences to his family and friends.

An unsuccessful video experiment

Today I tried to capture airborne aerotow video from the glider tug. For whatever reason I failed. 

Plan B next week.

All I have is an aerial shot of the field from the camera on my Gentle Lady.

Not very smooth flying, I wonder who the pilot was.
